The engineering behind the belt

The next post I will begin the extensive review of the comfort, hygiene, and security of the belt, but first I thought I would give you some general thoughts on the durability, engineering, and craftsmanship on the belt.  I will also include some pictures of the belt on.  There is some clever engineering and and a good deal of thought that went into this belt.  The steel is rather thin and light in fact I have heard this is a criticism of My-Steel.  But I find that because it is to bend it conforms to the body very well.  It is still strong enough to resist bending in key areas like the shield.  I also like how My-Steel uses plates to go together as you can see in this picture I posted earlier.

The plates allow the locking pins to be durable and lessen the chance of breakage.  The pins on the tube are thick and durable and fit nicely into the shield and crotch band.  Because the shield and the crotch band double up before they lock to the waist band it is plenty rigid and allows the band to push the tube against the pelvis keeping it quite secure.  The lock they use seems like it could be a bit heavier but I assume it is a quality lock.  The finish is nice the silicone liner looks good and seems secure to the belt they thought to reinforce it in places it might come loose easily.  I feel like the belt will last a long time even though it is fairly light weight.  Here are some pictures of it on: 

MY-STEEL Belt is here as promised!

So the belt has  arrived!  I have included some pictures and will try to take some pictures with the belt on.  In the brief time I’ve had it I can already say I like this one much better than the Carrara.   There is one slight problem however, I ordered a total model which has two adjustment points; one at the waist and one at the crotch.  They actually made me the comfort model which only has the adjustment at the waist.  The good news is that my measurements seem to be spot on.  The belt is quite tight which it needs to be and it seems that the crotch measurement is right where it needs to be so I’m actually happy at this point because now I don’t have to worry about two locks only one.  I will say however one of the reasons I chose MY-STEEL is the adjustability factor I tend to gain and lose weight and I wanted something that could adjust with me so I hope this doesn’t prove to be a problem later.  I would say the comfort is already better than it ever was with the Carrara even when it is quite tight around the waist and there is no way I’m pulling it down to get any more room I can stand to wear it.  As you may remember even though I have always had a interest in chastity I’ve always felt no belt is %100 secure without is being unbearable to wear, I may have been wrong.  I will give you initial review here and follow it up in a couple of weeks with a complete review.  

First I think is fair to state what I am looking for in a chastity belt.  For me I’m not really looking to wear it 24/7 however I do think the device should be able to be worn that way if necessary.  I will use the belt with my wife as part of our fetish  games, so it usually won’t be used for then 12 to 14 hours at a time.  I don’t intend to sleep in this belt except for maybe the few times that our games dictate that I do so.  I will also be removing the belt daily for cleaning.  The three things that are important to me in a belt are: Comfort-can it be worn in a manner that doesn’t interfere to much with daily activities, or causes pain where my main focus is not on the chastity itself but on getting the belt off.  Second hygiene- can I wear it and if necessary go to the bathroom with it on, can it stay relatively clean.  Third security- I belt has to prevent masturbation and orgasm otherwise what is the point.  Security is something I have always thought was basically a myth.  I have use a few trapped ball devices and can get out of them all, the Carrara belt ended up being no better so let’s see how MY-STEEL does I will say the initial results are promising.  More extensive review to come. 

    

More My-Steel Details

I want to give props to My-Steel for there customer service so far they really have been a refreshing change over my last experience.  Every time I have e-mailed them they have responded within 24 hours Petra has been very nice.  I don't think everything I have asked has translated well but they have been on top of things.  So I'm sure they will deliver the belt on time which will be nice.  After I ordered and paid for the belt they sent me information on the measurements need and how to measure.  They could have been a bit more detailed but they were pretty straight forward.  Waist measurement with a tight belt, crotch measurement from one side of the belt through the legs to the other side, from the the front of the belt to the penis, form the penis the the anus, from the anus to the belt in back that was about it.  Pretty easy.

  

Back from the Dead

Well most of you had probably thought this blog was dead and indeed it was, however, I have some new developments that should it back to life.  So it's alive, alive!  First things first, so what happened with the Carrara belt.  Well even after the months of waiting, and all the aggravation of trying to communicate with them and driving to meet them and finally getting new parts in the mail the belt still didn't work!  I believe this version has a design flaw which I don't think can be fixed.  The belt relies on sitting above the hips, it then plunges down and locks into part of the belt that has the tube and the protector.  The problem is you can't really get it tight enough to prevent pulling one side over the hip then the other side.  Once that happens the belt is no longer tight against the genitals and if it is not tight well you can guess what can be done.  I should mention that this is with the belt really really tight, in fact so tight that you cannot even go a day in the belt with out nasty red marks, real pain, etc.  I wasn't even going to attempt trying to contact carrara again to see if something could be done to fix it after the painful experiences I've had with them in the past.  So I sold the belt.  I hope it worked for who ever bought it.  Maybe it just was my body type or maybe that particular model has flaws and other ones work fine, but I didn't see this working for me.

New Beginning

So why am I writing this?  Well I thought my journey to find a good belt was over, however, I thought I'd give it another try.  I thought I would try a different maker and a different type and see if my results are different as well.  So who did I chose?  Well after quite a bit of research I choose MY-STEEL.  Why them well it really came down to them or Neo-steel.  All of the others companies either would be too complicated to get or seemed like they are semi out of business or I have heard horror stories about getting belts from them.  The two big reasons I went with MY-STEEL is that their belts are slightly adjustable and I have heard and so far have experienced excellent customer service.  I knew I wanted a belt that fit on the hip rather than on top, like the carrara, but I liked that the carrara had some adjustment possibility.  So does the MY-STEEL, in my case I ordered the Total hip design, which as two adjustment points.  I just ordered it yesterday probably will get it in about a month (another excellent aspect of my-steel).  So will this one work?  We'll have to wait and see, however so far the experience has been good.  My next post I'll tell you more about the ordering experience.          

It has arrived finally

Well I did finally receive the replacement waist band and string yesterday and only two months late!  So I think this process that started in May of last year has finally concluded.  Note to everyone considering a chastity belt from Carrara.  Although I've heard this is a issues with many of the belt makers, which is to bad since they want to charge so much for the belts.   

An initial fit of the belt tells me this is a big improvement over what I had and should be very secure.  Now comes the long process of bending the belt to fit perfectly and minimise pressure points.  This is difficult on the Carrara because the metal they use is so thick and I do not have the cool little tools that they used to bend or the experience they have when I was first fitted.  It looks like some attempt was made to do some pre-bending which was nice and probably means I only need some minor tweaking here and there.  Hopefully by the start of next week or the following I will do the week long test and give the full report on the belt.  Stay tuned.   

Finally some Contact

Just when I had given up hope of ever hearing from Walter again he contacts me from out of the blue.  He told me that the new waist band and string are shipping out on Monday.  Hopefully I'll have it by the end of the month or shortly there after.  After I recieve it and do some bending to get the fit right I'll do the proper review that I promised. 

Disappointed

Well I believe I would have to recommend that people do not buy a Cararra belt due to the lack of any customer service what-so-ever.  I was supposed to have the new waist band and string shopped out by Dec. 15th.  So far nothing saying it was shipped.  I have e-mailed them multiple times just to get an update with no response.  I would think it would be fairly simple to send this out it is not like it is a whole new belt, and this has been going on since May.  The product seems to be well made and it should be for the price, but if there is no customer service it cannot be successful.  Hopefully they will make good on their promises, but as of now avoid them if you can.
